The topic for Session Three is Riding your Bicycle to Freedom and Other Lofty Apogee. This original show features characters from history that were part of the bicycle movement in the later 19th century.
Amelia Bloomer (Courtney Hopkin) popularized the wearing of trousers for women, Annie Kopchovsky (Indigo Rael) rode her bicycle around the world during a time when few women traveled alone at all, and Charlotte Smith (Sonnet Blanton) was a suffragette and the feisty president of the Women’s Rescue League, which advocated against the riding of bicycles by women, for fear it would lead them down the slippery slope to prostitution.
